Kárníková, Tereza ; Reichelová, Lenka (advisor) ; Čablová, Lenka (referee)
Pathological personality structure in the stories of clients treated for addictive substance abuse in a chosen Highlands facility Abstract This thesis deals with the issue of personality disorders, termed in the title as pathological structures of personality, of people treated for addictive substance abuse. Numerous Czech and foreign studies pointing out high prevalence of personality disorders with substance abusers served as a base. I also proceeded from the finding that little was written in theory or dealt with in practice concerning comorbidity of abovementioned issues. The theoretical part is divided into three parts. The first part develops the topic of personality disorders, chosen types of addiction and the unifying topic of psychiatric comorbidity. The aim of the thesis is, by analyzing two case studies, to describe the possible manifestations and treats of specific personality disorders, to observe the way they affect their life or the development of the illness connected to substance abuse and the part they took in their relapses or in their cooperation with the services for substance abusers. I reached the goals of this thesis by the methods of qualitative research, using a semi-structured interview that was later on transformed into a case history. The research file consisted of two clients...
Comorbidity of psychical and autoimmune diseases
Kaňková, Zuzana ; Šolc, Roman (advisor) ; Mravec Bencúrová, Dominika (referee)
Mental and autoimmune disorders represent a wide range of different diseases and are currently one of the most common health problems. In recent years, a significant association between these two types of disorders has been observed, supported by both their frequent coexistence and other important findings such as shared genetic risk factors, the discovery of neuronal surface antibodies or immune system changes related to some mental disorders. This work attempts to map the autoimmune diseases that occur more often or rarely in patients with various mental disorders (and vice versa) and also describes possible mechanisms that may play a significant role in the development of this phenomenon. Key words mental disorders, autoimmune diseases, comorbidity, etiology, epidemiology, shared risk factors

Blažíčková, Eliška ; Kalina, Kamil (advisor) ; Minařík, Jakub (referee)
This work deals with the issue of dual diagnosis, namely patients with schizophrenic disease who are addicted to drugs and their view of the anxiety process. Theoretical background research is devoted to schizophrenic disease, addictive disorders and specifics in the treatment of patients with dual diagnosis. The aim of this research was to find out how users of addictive substances with a schizophrenic circuit disorder evaluate and experience the process of their anxiety. To create the above goal, I set the main research question, concretized by three sub- questions: (1) How do drug users with schizophrenic disorders assess and experience the process of their anxiety? (1.1.) "How do drug users with schizophrenic disorders have insight into their difficulties in treatment?" (1.2.) "How the level of these difficulties changed before the end of treatment"? (1.3.) "What aspects of recovery do these patients consider important?" The research set was selected by methods of improbable purpose. The research group finally consisted of four patients, i.e. hospitalized in the Psychiatric Hospital X. Sources of data for the case study in this case are medical documentation of patients (anamnestic data, records of group and individual therapies) and semi-structured interviews. The obtained data fixed by audio...

Štěpánková, Tereza ; Papežová, Hana (advisor) ; Stárková, Libuše (referee) ; Kocourková, Jana (referee)
Introduction: Recently published reviews and meta-analytic studies have shown increased interest in research of the ADHD and ED comorbidity. We conducted a case-control study (133 ED female patients/93 healthy control), screening for ED among ADHD patients (N=64) and a pilot study of a support group program for adults with ADHD and psychiatric comorbidities. Methods: Adult and childhood ADHD symptoms were assessed by self-report and other- report versions of a Barkley Adult ADHD questionnaire (BAARS-IV). Patients with ED and ADHD comorbidity underwent a structured interview (DIVA 2) and Integrated Visual and Auditory Performance Tests (IVA Plus) to confirm the ADHD diagnosis. Participants of the pilot program were assessed prior to and after the therapy by the Schwartz Outcome Scale (SOS) and Quality of life (SQUALA) questionnaires. Results: Using self-report questionnaire of current symptoms 61 (46 %) of ED patients were detected as likely having ADHD compared to 22 (24 %) from a healthy control group, 37 (28 % ) of ED patients were identified with the high probability of ADHD diagnose compared to 12 (13 %) from a healthy control group with significant differences. Screening for disordered eating behaviors indicated previously documented higher prevalence of overweight among men with ADHD...

The data were obtained during the questionnaire survey using the Munich Eating Disorder Questionnaire (Munich ED-Quest) and the Alcohol Use Disorders Identifi- cation Test (AUDIT), supplemented by socio-demographic questions. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics in SPSS. Results: In total, 25.5% of respondents suffer from eating disorders at some point. Marie Vavrušková The aim of this thesis, which focuses on the topic "Eating Disorders in Connection with Other Diagnoses," is to introduce the different types of eating disorders that have been previously diagnosed (anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, psychogenic overeating and new forms of eating disorders), to specify the medical treatment offered to patients in the Czech Republic, and in particular to describe what other mental or somatic disorders are most commonly associated with eating disorders. The empirical part of the thesis presents a questionnaire which analyses the following aspects: type of eating disorder from which the clients of Centrum Anabell Praha suffer most frequently, where their medical treatment takes place, whether they suffer from another mental or somatic disorder associated with eating disorders, and whether eating disorders have a negative impact on their lives. The empirical part also presents a case report, which describes the life story, history and prognosis of a man who suffers from an eating disorder and other associated disorders.
